Greener Airports

Less kerosene

The APU consumes between 107 and 240 kg of kerosene per operating hour. Thanks to AGES, the fuel consumption required for APU operation can be reduced by around 90%.

Less CO2 and NOx

Burning 1 kg of kerosene produces 3.16 kg of CO2 and 0.007 kg of NOx. Thanks to AGES, the emissions generated by APU operation can be reduced by around 90%.

Less noise

Depending on the type of aircraft, the noise level of APUs ranges between 95-105 dB A. AGES significantly reduces the local continuous sound level and thus the noise pollution of the surrounding area.

More energy efficiency

At Zurich Airport, airlines consume 20,700 tons less kerosene per year. The lower fuel consumption saves around 65,500 tons of CO2 and 173.3 tons of NOx per year.
